Privacy Policy — Daily Financial Summary
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Daily Financial Summary ("the App") is a Shopify application that gives merchants a one-page, printable financial summary of their own store's sales, payments and gift cards. This policy describes exactly what data the App accesses, what it stores, and what it never touches. It is intentionally short, because the App is intentionally minimal.
What the App does
The App reads order data from your Shopify store through Shopify's Admin API, aggregates it into totals (gross sales, discounts, returns, net sales, shipping, taxes, tips, payments by gateway, gift card amounts) for a date range you choose, and displays the result inside your Shopify admin. You can print it or export it as a CSV file. The CSV is generated in your browser; it is never uploaded anywhere.
Data we access
For each order, the App requests financial fields only:
- line item amounts, quantities and discount allocations
- refund amounts (items, shipping, taxes)
- tax lines, shipping lines, duties, tips
- payment transactions (gateway name, kind, status, amount)
- gift card issuance and redemption amounts
- order timestamps and test-order flags
The App also reads basic store information: store name, .myshopify.com domain, timezone and currency.
Data we do NOT access
The App never requests personal details of your customers. Specifically, it does not read customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping or billing addresses, customer IDs, customer notes, or any other field that identifies an individual customer. These fields are simply absent from every API query the App makes.
Data we store
The App stores one thing: the OAuth session that Shopify creates when you install the App (shop domain and access token), which is required for the App to function. It is kept in an encrypted database and deleted when you uninstall the App.
The App stores no order data, no report data and no customer data. Every report is computed on demand from the Shopify API and discarded after it is rendered. Retention of customer personal data is therefore zero.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for their own purposes. The only subprocessors are our hosting and database providers (Vercel, Inc. and the Postgres database provisioned through Vercel's marketplace), which process data solely to run the App. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS) and the database is encrypted at rest.
GDPR and privacy requests
The App implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:
- customers/data_request — because the App stores no customer data, there is nothing to export; we respond accordingly.
- customers/redact — nothing to delete; acknowledged.
- shop/redact — the store's OAuth session record is permanently deleted.
Because the App does not process identifiable customer data, it performs no profiling, no automated decision-making, and no marketing of any kind.
Consent and merchant obligations
The App operates on data your store already collects and shows it only to you (the merchant) inside your own Shopify admin. It does not interact with your customers or your storefront.
Changes to this policy
If the App's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised before the change takes effect.
